A structural warranty, or structural/latent defects insurance, is an insurance policy that covers defects in the workmanship, design and materials used in the construction of a self build. Typically, major faults in the design and construction will be covered, but snagging defects are excluded.

Mark Cook, our Head of Technical Services, is highly experienced in building regulation and structural warranty auditing, having worked for both the NHBC and Local Authority Building Control. Deciding to become independent, Mark started his own independent building control consultancy, MC Plan and Site Services.

The structural warranties we organise provide protection on new build or newly converted residential and commercial properties, for a period of 10 to 12 years. All policies we provide are underwritten by A-rated insurers and are recognised by the Council of Mortgage Lenders.
